July 22, 2001

Roland is proud to announce the DB-900 D-Bass Amplifier, the flagship model of its revolutionary D-Bass Series digital bass amps. An extremely powerful combo amp, the DB-900 uses Feed Forward Processing (FFP) to maximize power and punch—from high-mids to lows—using a 320-watt amplifier and special 4x10-inch / 2x12-inch Passive Radiator speaker system. Combined with built-in COSM Amp modeling, split-frequency D-Chorus and programmable digital memories, the DB-900 is the ultimate bass amp for touring and recording professionals.

Roland designed the DB-900 from the ground up, creating an all-new speaker system optimized for the bass guitar’s full frequency range: Four 10-inch speakers handle the highs and mids, while two 12-inch side-firing Passive Radiating speakers enhance the lowest of the lows. And with Roland’s exclusive Feed Forward Processing technology, this self-powered amp sounds even louder than its already impressive 320-watt rating. That’s because FFP can "sense" incoming signals and adjust the response characteristics of amplifier and speaker output for greater efficiency. The result is that the DB-900 delivers a clear, responsive and powerful output that has to be heard to be believed.

Being digital, the DB-900 offers bass players unique advantages like COSM Amp modeling. This proprietary technology faithfully recreates the sounds of several amp types—complete with a Shape switch for additional control of the high frequencies—giving bassists fat, warm tube drive sounds or tight solid-state tones. Tone can be further tweaked with 3-band EQ, COSM Compression and a unique split-frequency D-Chorus effect, capable of producing smooth chorus on the high-end without muddying the lows. Sounds can be stored to digital memory and instantly recalled via simple button pushes or optional footswitches.

The DB-900’s heavy-duty construction, built-in casters and side handles make this powerful amp ideal for road use. Connections include a high-quality XLR input, XLR and phono Line outputs, plus a stereo Headphone output.
