Tascam Introduces CC-222 CD-Recorder/Cassette Deck Combo

July 24, 2001TASCAM introduced their new CC-222 CD-RW/Cassette Deck. The CC-222 (MSRP $875.00) is the world's first product that combines a rewriteable CD recorder with a professional-quality cassette deck, and allows users to record cassette and vinyl LPs to CD via its host of analog and digital inputs and outputs.
"Consumers have looking for a way to archive music that is either out of print or no longer available," says Phil Sanchez, TASCAM marketing communications manager. "For those individuals, the CC-222 is the ideal piece of gear because it allows them to effortlessly and reliably transferring older analog material like vinyl LPs and cassette tape to the CD format for their personal use."
Users can easily duplicate material from cassette tape to CD or from a CD to cassette tape. Additionally, the cassette and CD can also be utilized independently allowing users to record from additional out-board players such as another CD player to the CC-222s CD-RW drive or cassette deck. With built-in dedicated Phono In jacks and an RIAA equalizer, the CC-222 can even record from a traditional turntable directly to a variety of CD media or to cassette tape.
The CC-222s CD-RW drive can utilize a variety of CD media including CD-DA
(play only), CD-R, CD-RW, CD-R-DA and CD-RW-DA. The CD-RW drive also features a selectable 1 to 24 second Fade IN/OUT recording function, as well
as selectable Copy ID allowing users SCMS free recording capabilities. The cassette decks features include auto reverse, Dolby B noise reduction and a +/-12% pitch control.
Its 3-U rackmount design and continuous CD / Tape playback make the CC-222 ideal for any studio or systems contractor installation. For install situations, this combo design provides institutions that do not have the space or the budget for individual components the ability to get these popular formats in one powerful unit.
The CC-222s front panel includes an LED status display for monitoring all machine functions, a complete control panel for both the CD-RW drive and Cassette deck and a headphone output with level control. The rear panel features a complete host of audio input sources including optical and coaxial digital ports, as well as RCA (analog) ports for Line, Phono and Tape signals making the machine easy to integrate into any system.
