TASCAM (Booths 5117 and 403) introduced its new CD-RW4U at Summer NAMM 2001. The newest edition to TASCAMs highly acclaimed line of professional CD burners, the CD-RW4U is a easy to use rewritable CD recorder/player offering the power of TASCAMs acclaimed CD-RW700 mechanism in a compact design.
"The CD-RW4U is a powerful and user friendly professional grade CD recorder/player," says Patrick Killianey, TASCAM senior product specialist. "Its size and budget minded pricepoint makes the CD-RW4U the ideal deck for the consumer audiophile and home studio musician."
The TASCAM CD-RW4U CD can record to both Pro and Consumer CD-R/RW media, and virtually any available CD-R/RW media can be used for trouble free copying of your own material. The CD-RW4U offers the user the ability to defeats SCMS codes allowing multiple CD copies. The built-in sample rate converter automatically adjusts differing program sample rates before burning to a disc. The front panel control surface features a stereo mini headphone jack with an adjustable level control for monitoring, a program input level control and a VU level meter on the LED screen for visual reference. The rear panel offers both RCA unbalanced analog I/O in addition to coaxial digital I/O, making the CD-RW4U ideal for use with various analog and digital program sources
and gear.
The unit also features a wireless remote controller that offers additional control

Via the remote, users can access features like the Rec Mute function, the Elapse and Remain Time Display, Shuffle Play and the Unfinalize, Track Erase and Disc Erase function for CD-RW discs.
