Edirol Announces 24/96 Audio Interface at NAMM

Edirol Corporation introduced the DA-2496 8x8 Multi-track Digital Audio Recording Interface at Summer NAMM. This 1 rack unit device with PCI card allows for analog to digital conversion through an 8 input 8 output switching interface. Record multiple instruments and performers each on their own track. Delivers quality digital audio for mixing and editing, with audio resolution up to 24-bit/96kHz. Works with a variety of multi-track recording software on both Mac and Windows platforms. Connection choices are: 1. Discreet L/R XLR plus 1/4" inputs on front panel with input gain adjustment, for guitar (Hi-Z) or microphone (48v phantom power for mic.), 2. Optical/coaxial S/PDIF input-output (extra optical input on front panel for convenience), 3. MIDI input-output, 4. Word clock input-output with front panel selector switch, 5. Five 1/4" input-output connections on rear panel. The DA-2496 is compatible with ASIO2.0 (WIN/MAC), MME (WIN) and Sound Manager (MAC). Release date: Fall 2001.
