PRESS RELEASE

The Multiac ACS Slim from Godin

July 20, 2001

(Click for a close-up)

Godin has just released the latest model in the Multiac lineup-the ACS Slim. The ‘Slim’ in the moniker refers to the 1-3/4 inch neck width at the nut, which provides a feel more familiar to steel string players. The standard ACS, and Multiac Nylon have a 1 7/8 width at the nut. The Multiac Grand Concert neck is a full 2 inches at the nut for players after a traditional classical guitar feel.

The Slim also makes its debut featuring Godin’s new Ergocut shaping technique. The Ergocut technique bevels the edges of the fingerboard and frets back in towards the centre of the fingerboard, which along with the slight 16-inch- fingerboard radius provide an extremely comfortable feel. Beyond the new neck the ACS Slim shares all of the same features that have made the ACS an industry standard. The chambered, silverleaf maple body with hard maple top results in an instrument that is virtually free of feedback, making it easy to use even in loud stage situations.

The engine of the ACS Slim includes individual transducer saddles powered by a customized preamp system from the RMC Pickup Company. This system not only produces superb amplified sound, but also produces a hexaphonic output through a 13-pin connector enabling direct access to Roland GR-Series guitar synthesizers.

The Godin Multiac Series guitars have played a key role in providing guitar players of all kinds with solutions to the problems associated with amplifying nylon strung guitars. Whether recording, performing or just looking for an excellent plugged in sound, these instruments deliver superb results.
