Lexicon Announces Version 2.5 Software Upgrade for 960L

July 21, 2001

Lexicon, Inc., a Harman International company (NYSE: HAR), has announced the latest software upgrade, Version 2.5, to its 960L Multi-Channel Digital Effects System. Version 2.5 includes over 100 new factory programs utilizing seven newly developed stereo and multi-channel delay algorithms. Along with the new delays, Version 2.5 includes two additional stereo and multi-channel 96kHz reverb algorithms. The introduction of Version 2.5 is a direct result of feedback from leading artists, engineers, and producers working with Lexicon to continually expand the 960L’s feature set.

Version 2.5 has a Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price of $599 (US) but is available to 960L owners at no charge, for a limited time, by registering their 960L online at www.lexicon.com. The Version 2.5 software upgrade will be sent on CD-ROM when it is released at the end of July. Since the 960L Mainframe features an integral CD-ROM drive, this upgrade is a fast and easy way to add the following features:

New Multi-Channel Delay Algorithms — Surround delay algorithms, including: Simple Surround Delays, Random Surround Delays, Surround Frame Delay, Octal Frame Delay, and Octal Zone Delay. Available at 44.1/48/88.2/96kHz.

New Stereo Delay Algorithms — Delay algorithms, including: Simple Delays, Dual Delays, Random Delays, and Stereo Frame Delay. Available at 44.1/48/88.2/96kHz.

New Stereo 96kHz Reverb Algorithms — Plate and Chamber algorithms running at 96kHz provide unequaled levels of reverb quality.

New Multi-Channel 96kHz Reverb Algorithms — Surround Plate and Surround Chamber algorithms join the impressive family of multi-channel reverbs.

New Stereo Delay Programs — 7 new banks of factory programs utilizing the stereo delay algorithms. These programs range from simple PCM42 type delays to wild delay effects. There is also a bank containing the 480L delay programs.

New Multi-Channel Programs — 4 new banks of factory programs utilizing the multi-channel delay algorithms. These programs range from simple surround delays to stunning new effects.

"For the past 30 years, Lexicon has always developed state-of-the-art products that have provided customers with value as well as an upgrade path," stated Buzz Goodwin, Lexicon’s Vice President of Sales. "The 960L is our flagship platform and we will continue to offer new features and enhancement in the coming years."
