The NS-JH6 is the latest addition to the US Bolt-On series of basses, handmade in Saugerties, NY. "We're proud of this addition to the line," says company founder Stuart Spector, "We had the US Neck-Through 6 string for the high end player, then last year we added the Professional Series 6 String, which allowed us to offer a quality 6 String bass for under $800, so we wanted to add another option for the bassist that is looking for a wide range instrument." This new bass features a 35" scale, dual active EMG pick-ups, and is a direct descendant of the original NS-2J bass released by Spector back in 1983. The 24 fret neck is attached to the body with a deep inset pocket and 5 neck bolts. The neck is fashioned of 3 ply Maple and has graphite stiffening rods and a heavy duty truss rod. The bass is available with a swamp ash or figured maple body in a variety of oil finishes including: Natural Oil; Natural Black Stain; Peacock Blue Stain; Violet Stain; Royal Blue Stain; and Golden Stain. Pricing starts at $2295 retail. For more information, visit their web site at http://www.spectorbass.com/.
