Midiman Changes Company Name to M-Audio July 20, 2002
Ranked by Music Trades magazine as the fastest growing company in the music industry for the past two consecutive years, Midiman has changed its corporate moniker to M-Audio--the name it has been using for its Audio Division since 1999. This re-branding comes as an acknowledgement of the Company's highly successful expansion into a broad range of product categories related to musical performance, recording and pro audio. The Midiman product line will remain available through M-Audio.
"Midiman and M-Audio both have great brand recognition," acknowledges Adam Castillo, Marketing Director of M-Audio. "The fact is that the name M-Audio better reflects our expanded product lines and future directions as a company. Given our continued growth and diversification of products, we felt that this was a logical time to make the transition."
With sales expanding more than 190% in the last two years, M-Audio has seen great success. M-Audio has both expanded its own product lines and selected key products to distribute in order to provide its customers with all the core elements of today's computer-centric studio.
The Company started making niche MIDI products in 1988 and experienced a significant growth as it began to focus on the nascent desktop recording market in 1997. Since then, M-Audio has brought dozens of new digital audio products to market.
