Peavey Introduces CEL-2A Compressor/Expander/Limiter

Peavey has announced the CEL-2A Compressor/Expander/Limiter. The CEL-2A is designed for use in all live performance and recording applications.
The CEL-2A is a single rack space unit that can be operated as either two independent compressors or one synched stereo compressor with true RMS summing. Voltage-controlled amplifier and RMS-integrated circuits maintain low distortion and excellent noise performance.
The CEL-2A includes a side-chain insert in the detector path that allows manipulation or replacement of the detector signal. The insert has its own enable switch and two selectable filters, a low cut filter to reduce low frequency modulation from the detector path and a filter to remove sibilance (hissing "s" and "z" consonant sounds). These functions can be utilized simultaneously.
A 12-segment LED array displays the amount of gain reduction, while a ten-segment LED array can be switched to show either the input or output level. The CEL-2A also has fully balanced inputs and outputs with XLR and 1/4" jack connections. A special "one cable" I/O 1/4" TRS jack allows the use of a standard 1/4" stereo cable to directly connect the CEL-2A to the insert jack of a mixer.
The CEL-2A is expected to ship to U.S. Authorized Peavey Dealers in August 2002.
