Successor to Peavey's Feedback Ferret Debuts at Summer NAMM

Peavey Electronics introduced the new Feedback Ferret II at the Summer NAMM show in Nashville. In early 2002, Peavey unveiled the Feedback Ferret, a digital feedback eliminator that won an EQ magazine Blue Ribbon Award.
Not only will the anticipated Feedback Ferret II have all the features of the original, such as digital filters that pin down exact problem frequencies, four user presets, power-up recall, panic filters for sudden, unexpected feedback, XLR and 1/4" TRS balanced I/O and an internal power supply, but the new Feedback Ferret II will allow the user to eliminate feedback in stereo via its 16 filters on each of its 2 channels. The user can also switch into dual mono mode, essentially creating two separate Feedback Ferrets in a single unit for a total of 32 filters.
The Feedback Ferret applies a narrow notch filter on specific problem frequencies to eliminate feedback without sacrificing tonal quality. The device continuously checks and rechecks the designated problem frequencies and then releases the filter when it no longer detects feedback. This design allows the Ferret to apply the right amount of filtration and guarantee that the sound will not become muddied.
The Feedback Ferret II has a U.S. MSRP of $499.99 and will be available from Authorized Peavey Dealers in September 2002.
