PRESS RELEASE

Two New Keyboard Amps from Peavey

July 20, 2002

Peavey Electronics has introduced two new keyboard amplifiers, the 100 Watt KB4 and 200 Watt KB5.

Designed as a PA system in a keyboard amp, the versatile KB4 and KB5 feature separate stereo inputs on each channel and can easily handle voice, microphones and other instruments, including acoustic and electric guitars, drum machines and backing machines, such as CD and DAT players. Other essential features include stereo effects loop, ground lift, master level, headphone jack with independent level control, XLR balanced stereo line out, DDT defeat switch and the capability to drive an external speaker up to full power (100 Watts for the KB4, 200 Watts for the KB5).

Peavey's Distortion Detection Technique (DDT) virtually eliminates power amp distortion, producing a much clearer sound than ordinary powered mixers. DDT also protects speakers from damage caused by distorted signals.

The KB4's channels 1 and 2 feature two-band EQ and accept 1/4" inserts. Channel 3 on the KB4 accepts both 1/4" and XLR inserts and features a separate level control and three-band EQ. The KB5 has an extra channel for a total of three channels with two-band EQ, plus a separate level control, three-band EQ and 1/4" and XLR inputs on channel 4. All channels are in stereo except for an additional mono channel on both models, which is designed as a monitor/line input.

The KB4 and KB5 amplifiers will be available from U.S. Authorized Peavey Dealers in September 2002.
