New and Improved VSX II Crossover from Peavey

(Click for a close-up)
July 19, 2002

Ten years after the Peavey VSX crossover, Peavey Electronics Corporation unveiled the new and improved VSX II crossover at Summer NAMM.

The fully redesigned, two-way stereo/three-way mono Peavey VSX II crossover features a true fourth order Linkwitz/Riley crossover filter with improved selectivity to 24 dB/octave and an extended crossover frequency range from 60 Hz to 6 kHz. Each of the VSX II's two channels features +/-20 dB gain control and switchable 24 dB/octave low cut filter at 40 Hz roll-off frequency. Each frequency band within the two channels has a +/-20 dB level control, polarity and mute switches, a green signal-presence LED (-20 dBV threshold) and a red Clip/Mute LED. In addition, each of the two high frequency sections features an adjustable CD horn EQ boost control from 0 to +12 dB. A separate sub-woofer channel sends channels 1 and 2 through an independent, 100 Hz, 24 dB/octave high cut filter.

All seven inputs and outputs are balanced and located on the rear panel, and each has XLR, 1/4" TRS jack and three-pin Euro connector I/O.
