Roland Introduces F-30 Digital Piano
July 20, 2002
Roland is showing the new F-30 Digital Piano at the Summer NAMM show. This 88-note instrument offers grand piano sound in a compact maple cabinet that can be removed from the stand for easy portability. Twenty tones are provided, along with onboard rhythms and 60 preset songs.
With space more and more at a premium, players will instantly appreciate the F-30's sleek cabinet, which can be easily removed from the stand for a new level of portability. An 88-note weighted velocity-sensitive keyboard makes it possible to play more expressively, while damper and optional soft pedals complete the experience.
Twenty tones are provided--including acoustic and electric piano, strings, choir and bass. The piano sounds in particular are taken from Roland's latest sample library. 64 voices of polyphony ensure that notes will sustain even when using the damper pedal. A reverb effect is provided for concert hall sound, while Dual and Split modes let users layer tones or play duos.
Sixty-five preset songs are included for listening or playing along, while an onboard metronome helps students perfect their timing using a standard click tone or 16 preset percussion rhythms. A stereo Line input makes it possible to play along with CDs. And all of this music sounds great on the F-30's built-in stereo speaker system.
Connections to the F-30 include MIDI In and Out, stereo 1/4-inch outputs, dual Headphone outputs (stereo mini-jack type), Damper and Soft Pedal inputs, and stereo RCA inputs.
