Steinberg Introduces Cubase SL

Steinberg is now shipping Cubase SL,
the successor to Cubase VST. Cubase SL offers musicians a compact
software solution for their project studios, including digital audio, MIDI
sequencing, intelligent MIDI input and processing tools, virtual
instruments
and a wealth of effects that allow music creation and production at the
highest technical level.
Steinberg's new Cubase SL a modern sequencer that harnesses the
colossal processing power of today's PCs more efficiently for music
production and puts all the possibilities of a professional project studio
at the musician's disposal, "from the first idea to the finished CD."
Main Cubase SL features include:
- Windows 200/XP features (Mac OS X support from 4th quarter 2002)
- Cubase SX "Look and feel"
- VST System Link
- Graphic automation for all parameters
- Loop editing with automatic tempo matching, groove extraction
- Musical real-time MIDI processing (arpeggiator, step sequencer etc.)
- A complete set of virtual instruments (drums, bass, synthesizer)
- Waldorf synthesizer technology
- Quadra Fuzz by Craig Anderton
- Extensive set of virtual effect processors
- Unlimited Undo/Redo
- Offline Process History for all integrated audio processes
- 24 Bit / 96 kHz
- Cubase VST 5.x project import
Cubase SL is available from 22nd July, 2002 at specialist dealers for US$ 449.00/Euro 499.00 (suggested retail price). Steinberg anticipate that the new Cubase
versions for Mac OS X will be available at the beginning of the 4th
quarter,
2002.
Upgrade information
The upgrade from Cubase VST to Cubase SL will be available for Euro
199.00.
Customers who purchased Cubase VST 5.1 after the 1st of March 2002 can
obtain their upgrade to Cubase SL for only Euro 99.00.
The upgrade from Cubasis VST to Cubase SL costs Euro 399.00.
An upgrade from Cubase SL to Cubase SX is also available for Euro 299.00.
