Taylor Guitars introduces its new Dreadnoughts at Summer NAMM 2002. While maintaining the "balanced" sound for which Taylor guitars are known, the new Dreadnoughts deliver impressive volume and powerful, bass-dominant tones that will have special appeal for a wide variety of players. Company president Bob Taylor is satisfied that his ongoing quest to create the ultimate guitar neck and playability has come to fruition with his patented NT ("New Technology") neck design, and he has turned his attention to exploring nuances of tone.
"I wanted to give the Dreadnoughts their own distinctive voice. The Taylor flagship tone is well established and perfectly embodied in our Grand Auditorium model. Tweaking the tone and boosting the volume of our Dreadnought has allowed us to achieve more of the 'cannon' effect of which this type of guitar is capable, yet the new Dreadnoughts still have a well-balanced 'Taylor'sound."
