Voyager Sound introduced
GraphiMix 02 at Summer NAMM, the second in a series of products utilizing technology that gives the engineer
both a visual and aural "view" of mix productions, real-time.
Up to 16 MIDI-compatible audio mixers linked together appear to the user as a single device. The
units can be from different manufacturers and still be controlled from a single source.
GraphiMix technology extends the limits of conventional mix hardware in a way that is impossible to
achieve otherwise. For example, it allows Yamaha Promix and 01V users to produce surround
sound mixes. GraphiMix enhances control of any MIDI-compatible hardware such as mix consoles,
sequencers, PC sound cards, effects processors, and more.
Voyager Sound GraphiMix employs a user-definable on-screen "mix surface" with image or text
icons to represent individual sound elements. It uses the position or state of the graphic icons to set
controls such as gain, pan, and effects. The relative positions of the icons can represent a collection
of mixer control settings. Several controls can be changed simultaneously by moving just one icon
with a mouse.
GraphiMix 02 includes support for Yamaha's DME32, 02R, Promix 01 and 01V. Those who
have other consoles such as a Mackie or Tascam, can easily adapt GraphiMix to control them.
GraphiMix guides the user through a series of menus for easy customization. By
utilizing Voyager Sound's VSL language, the user can define his own control elements. This allows
Voyager Sound's GraphiMix products to control any MIDI-compatible hardware without software
modifications.
GraphiMix features include:
- Flexible audio mix control using graphic icons including a mix icon solo feature and new mix icon link types (constant X and Y offset, same as, cross fader, cross-pan)
