Aguilar Amplification is proud to introducing the OBP-3, their new three band onboard preamp for bass. The OBP-3 provides up to 18dB of bass boost/cut, centered at 40Hz, allowing the user to dial in all the fat bottom Aguilar is famous for. The flexible treble control provides up to 16dB of boost/cut at 6.5 kHz, and captures the natural sound of a traditional "tone" control when employed in the cut mode. This allows the player to attenuate high frequencies, while still preserving the bass's clarity. The boost mode adds a variable degree of top end sparkle for unparalleled slap sounds. The powerful midrange control provides user selectable frequencies of 400 or 800Hz, each with a full 16dB boost/cut capability. Combined with the bass and treble controls, the tonal possibilities are unlimited. The diminutive OBP-3 measures just 1" X 1" X .58" (only slightly larger than a guitar pick) It can be powered from a single 9-volt battery, or two 9-volt batteries for an additional 6dB of headroom. The OBP-3 retails for $179, and is backed by the Aguilar 10 year limited warranty. For more information, visit their web site at http://www.aguilaramp.com/.
