New 200 Series Freeway Wireless Systems from Audio-Technica

July 23, 2002

Audio-Technica is making their acclaimed wireless technology available to an entirely new audience. Designed for musicians, live performance, houses of worship, public address and aerobic instruction, A-T's new 200 Series Freeway Wireless Systems specifically answer the strong demand for affordable wireless systems.

Available in handheld, headworn, guitar, lavalier, and body-pack configurations, the 200 Series Freeway Wireless Systems are single-channel, fixed-frequency systems available in three VHF frequencies (169.505, 170.245, and 171.905 MHz).

Each 200 Series Freeway Wireless System includes the ATW-R200 receiver and either a body-pack transmitter or handheld microphone/transmitter. The ATW-R200 is a non-diversity, single-channel receiver with dipole antenna design and features a unique removable docking power supply that slides into the receiver. For further flexibility, the power adapter can easily be removed from the receiver case and be used as a conventional in-line AC adapter. The ATW-R200 also offers squelch and volume controls along with AF Peak, RF and Power indicator lights.

The ATW-201 UniPak transmitter, included with all 200 Series Freeway body-pack systems, features a professional 4-pin locking connector, and a dual-impedance input for instruments and microphones. Four body-pack system configurations are available: the ATW-201 UniPak System (includes receiver and UniPak transmitter only), the ATW-201/G Guitar System with AT-GCW guitar cable, the ATW-201/H Headworn System with PRO 8HEcW hypercardioid dynamic headworn microphone, and the ATW-201/L Lavalier System with AT829cW cardioid condenser lavalier microphone.

The ATW-202 handheld dynamic microphone/transmitter is included with the ATW-202 Handheld Microphone System. Both the handheld and body-pack transmitters operate on a single 9-volt battery, and feature a battery-condition indicator light, easily accessible three position Off/Standby/On switch, and a variable trim control.

The Audio-Technica 200 Series Freeway Wireless Systems will be available in August 2002 with MSRPs as follows:

  • ATW-201 UniPak Body-pack System – $149.95
  • ATW-201/G Guitar System – $174.95
