July 19, 2002

BOSS announced the RV-5 Digital Reverb at NAMM, a compact reverb pedal with true stereo capabilities and high-quality algorithms on par with rackmount gear. The RV-5's six distinct reverbs include new spring reverb emulation, gate reverb and a Modulate mode for spacious reverb sounds. Thanks to its stereo inputs and outputs, the RV-5 can be connected before or after other stereo effect pedals like the BOSS BF-3 Flanger and DD-6 Digital Delay, maintaining a true stereo signal throughout. The six onboard reverbs include halls and plates, plus a new spring reverb emulation. The RV-5's gate reverb is based on the same algorithms used in high-end Roland gear, while the new Modulate mode creates a detuned reverb sound for increased spaciousness and depth. Connections to the RV-5 include stereo 1/4-inch input and output jacks, and an input for an optional AC adapter. Like all BOSS compact pedals, the RV-5 comes with a 5-year limited warranty.
