Korg introduced the SP-300 Digital Piano at NAMM, a "slab" style stage piano that provides piano sounds in a convenient, portable package suited for any pianist – from student to professional. The SP-300's 88-note hammer-action keyboard reproduces the touch of an acoustic piano. Four full stereo and mono grand piano sounds compliment this piano action. Three carefully tuned velocity-response curves allow players to tailor the action of the SP-300 to their own playing styles.

In addition to piano sounds, the SP-300 includes a number of Vintage 60's Electric Pianos, an Electric Grand, plus Harpsichord, Clavinet, Wah Clav, Vibraphone, Marimba, Acoustic Guitar, Jazz and Church Organs, Strings, and Choirs, for a total of 30 sounds. All sounds can be played individually or in two-timbre layers. Reverb and chorus effects add spaciousness and depth to these sounds, recreating everything from a subtle chorus to the ambience of a concert hall. Effects settings have been optimized for each individual sound, and the performer can choose from three levels of effect – Light, Normal, or Deep.

A built-in amplification system consists of a main amplifier and two 15 Watt speakers. The SP-300 also features mono/stereo Audio Inputs to play external MIDI modules and other instruments through its internal speaker system.

The Headphone output and built-in Metronome with adjustable tempo and time-signature are ideal for student use. For pro players, the SP-300 provides mono and stereo outputs. Additional temperament selections – including Kirnberger and Werckmeister scales – are included. A Transposition Function and up to 60-note polyphony are also offered. The SP-300 is housed in a sleek silver cabinet with dark cherry end pieces that fits into any décor.

A sustain pedal and music stand are included with the SP-300, and an optional DS-1H (Half-Pedal Sustain) pedal is available.

The Korg SP-300 will be available in September, with a suggested retail price of $1,250. DS-1H is available for a suggested retail price of $65.
