16FXD Added to Alesis' MultiMix Line16-channel analog mixer with digital effects and S/PDIF output July 19, 2003
At this year's Summer NAMM show, Alesis announcef the MultiMix 16FXD, a 16-channel, 4-buss analog mixer with built-in digital effects and S/PDIF output. Compact and flexible, the MultiMix 16FXD is intended to be used as project studio console, computer recording front end, and live sound mixer.
The MultiMix 16FXD features analog electronics with 8 microphone/line inputs and 4 stereo line inputs on balanced 1/4" TRS connectors. The mic preamps include switchable 75Hz high-pass filters, phantom power, and up to 50dB of gain. Each channel includes a 60mm fader, 3-band EQ, and two aux sends--one switchable to pre- or post-fader. The master section features stereo LED bargraph meters, independent Main Mix and Alt 3/4 60mm faders, 2-track send and return, and a separate Control Room level control.
The digital effects section of the MultiMix 16FXD offers a range of 100 28-bit effects, eliminating the need to patch in external effects, and enabling quicker setup and greater portability. Presets include reverbs, delays, chorus, flanging, pitch, and multieffects. A 44.1kHz S/PDIF output allows seamless integration with digital equipment and computers.
