Behringer has introduced brand-new V-Tone line of modeling guitar amp workstations with analog modeling technology. From the smallest 15-Watt practice amplifier, the V-Tone GM108, to the top-of-the-line 2 x 50-Watt V-Tone GMX212, all models feature 27 amp and speaker simulation combinations. The range of combos is comprised of the V-Tone GM108 ($69.99), GMX110 ($199.99), GMX210 ($269.99) and the GMX212 ($329.99). The V-Tone series amps will be available in the 4th quarter of 2003.

These amps are designed to provide a tube-like feel and sound with flexibility and road-worthiness. The V-Tone GMX212 pumps its 2 x 50 Watts through two heavy-duty Jensen speakers. The combo's two independent analog modeling channels provide a broad range of sounds, from clean to crunch to distortion. Furthermore, its Dynamizer circuitry lends tube-like compression to the tone, according to the company.

FX Tracking allows independent effects settings on each channel, while the 24-bit stereo multi-effects processor offers effects such as chorus, flanging, phasing, rotary, auto-wah, echo, delay, compressor and various effect combinations with 99 user presets and MIDI control. Additionally, external effects devices such as wah-wah pedals can be connected via the combo's serial FX loop.

Stereo tape and line outputs with speaker simulation for direct recording and live applications are prvided, and like most other V-Tone GMX series amps, the GMX212 features an integrated auto-chromatic tuner controllable via the footswitch. The dual footswitch FS112 for channel selection, effect bypass and tuner activation is included.
