New from Korg are the EC-150 and EC-350 Digital Pianos. Both offer piano sounds and features that are suited for any pianist -- from student to professional. An authentic-feeling, 88-note hammer-action keyboard faithfully reproduces the touch of an acoustic piano, and is complemented by a total of four stereo and mono grand piano sounds. Three velocity-response curves allow players to tailor the action of the EC-150 or EC-350 to their own playing style.

In addition to piano sounds, both models include a number of vintage 1960's Electric Pianos and Electric Grands, plus Harpsichord, Clavinet, Wah Clav, Vibraphone, Marimba, Acoustic Guitar, Jazz and Church Organs, Strings/Pad, and Choirs, for a total of 30 sounds. Sounds can be played individually or in two-timbre layers. Reverb and chorus effects add spaciousness and depth to these sounds, recreating everything from a subtle chorus to a concert hall ambience. The effects settings offer three levels -- Light/Normal/Deep -- and have been optimized for each sound individually.

Dual headphone outputs and a built-in Metronome, with volume and tempo control plus optional note accents, are ideal for student use. Additional temperament selections (including Kirnberger and Werckmeister scales) are included, as well as a transposition function, fine tuning option, and up to 60-note polyphony. The EC-350 also includes a two-track recorder that allows players to create original compositions or practice their technique.

Both pianos feature two-way speaker systems -- the EC-150 provides a dual 25 Watt system, while the EC-350 provides a dual 35 Watt bass enclosure system. For pro players, both models include stereo outputs and MIDI in/out. Additional keyboards or sound modules can be monitored when plugged into the EC-150/350's AUX IN sockets. The EC-350 also has a PC HOST interface, for connecting directly to a PC.

The EC-150 and EC-350 feature cherry finishes. The EC-350 also comes equipped with a key cover. Damper (half-damping supported), Sostenuto, and Soft pedals are included with both models.

The Korg EC-150 and EC-350 Digital Pianos will be available in August 2003 with U.S. MSRPs of $1,800 and $2,400, respectively.
