Pacific Digital introduced DrumXtreme DX-150, its deluxe USB digital drum set for PCs and laptops, at the NAMM show in Nashville. Like the original DrumXtreme, the DX-150 is an electronic drum system in a "rack" setup. It has all the features of the original, plus an additional pad and kick pedal that add new capabilities for the experienced drummer.
The new foot pedal adds hi-hat open/close control. The new pad provides a customizable percussion trigger (toms, cow-bell) or cymbal trigger (for example, ride, crash, splash or China ).
The DrumXtreme DX-150 can be played through a computer's sound card. Plug-and-play DrumXtreme DX-150 plugs into a PC's USB port, is easy to assemble, and sets up or folds down in minutes. Set up, it measures 41-inches high, 22.5-inches deep and 32-inches wide; folded, it measures 33-inches high, 6.5-inches deep and by 32- inches wide.
DrumXtreme DX-150 comes complete with six drum pads, two kick-pedals, a rack/stand, drumsticks, cables and a DX-Box audio host. It features one-cable USB connectivity and -- since it plays through a PC -- no power plug, batteries or additional speakers are needed. It includes a CD software tutorial with three training videos, a play-along four-level drum game, exercises, an interface to select from 14 different drum sound banks (with over 130 usable sound samples), and a "tone effect" feature that helps beginners develop snare, tom, hi-hat, and crash and ride skills. It also includes full documentation and a CD with pre-recorded play-a-long scores. DrumXtreme DX-150 is available now at an MSRP of $399.
DrumXtreme DX-150 will be distributed by Harris Musical Products (www.picksbythepound.com).
