Ampeg's New SVT810 "Fridge" Actually Keep Things Cold

July 21, 2003

Ampeg has turned its most famous product's infamous nickname, the SVT810 'fridge,' inside out by placing an actual functioning Crosley Refrigerator within an authentic SVT810E-style enclosure, complete with Tolex, grill cloth, logo, and all the typical SVT hardware, making it look exactly like the boxy amp bass players everywhere have relied on for decades.

Over the past few years, Ampeg has placed the "fridge" in rehearsal studios across the country; the response was so overwhelming that they decided to produce a limited run for sale and as a retail incentive. The "fridge" has already made it into the hands of a few performers, including Tim McGraw, who has made it part of his stage act.

For a limited time, Ampeg dealers are offered an incentive program, and will receive the refrigerator at a discounted price if they purchase other Ampeg products for retail sale. The promotional "fridge" refrigerators are also available for shipment now; suggested retail is $1299.
