NAMM Preview: Tube Amp for Digital Modelers

July 17, 2003

Atomic Amplifiers has announced the Atomic Reactor 112, a tube amplifier designed by Harry Kolbe, to bring to life the tone created by modeling tools, with all of the organic warmth and power characteristic of tubes.

The Reactor 112 enables guitarists to take their favorite tones from their digital amp modelers live to the stage or rehearsal. The amp can reproduce those desired tones because it is voiced specifically for modelers, according to the company.

Besides its unique ability to "de-digitize" a modeler's signal, notable features of the Atomic Reactor 112 include:

  • A mounting system that encases popular modelers within the cabinet
  • A custom designed 12" speaker with a neodymium magnet (which helps reduce the weight of the unit)
  • A fully enclosed, tuned and ported all-wood cabinet.

The Reactor 112 will be available in stores this fall.
