Crate to Give Away 25 Limited Edition CR-1 "Crate" Amps

July 22, 2003

This summer, Crate celebrates the company's 25th anniversary with the reissue of the Limited Edition, Original Crate Amp, the CR-1. The first Crate amp got its name from its cosmetics: it was housed in a solid wooden crate. Since the original design, Crate has grown to become one of the world's largest manufacturers of amplifier products.

In recognition of the amp's original design, Crate has developed a national sweepstakes to help attract consumers to Crate retail outlets. Any consumer who visits a participating Crate retailer and fills out a form is entered to win one of 25 limited edition, hand-constructed wood cabinet amplifiers.

Celebrating the original Crate amp design, the 2003 CR-1s feature class A tube circuitry, intuitive operation and great tone in a vintage Crate woodencabinet.
