July 18, 2003

ESP's Xtone is a new series of single- and double-cutaway, arched-top, semi-hollow guitars that recall the classic archtops of the past combined with modern electronics and manufacturing technology. The first in the line of guitars, the Xtone Paramount Standard and Custom Series are semi-hollow archtop guitars with a difference. Like yesterday's hollowbodies, these semi-hollow guitars feature all the attitude and pizzazz of their ancestors, but with a modern take on the classic hollowbody shape. Xtone Paramount Customs, including the PC-1V and PC-2V, feature flamed maple tops, authentic Bigsby vibratos, Seymour Duncan pickups, triple-layer binding, pearl and abalone inlays, and deluxe gold hardware. Xtone Paramount Standards have the same great shape (single- or double-cutaway), with ESP's own Xtone pickups, licensed Bigsby vibrato, and high quality chrome hardware. US Retail Prices: Xtone Paramount Standard Series: PS-1V & PS-2V, $529; Xtone Paramount Custom Series: PC-1V & PC-2V (Black), $799, $849 for flamed maple top colors (Blonde, Brown Sunburst, See-Thru-Red).
