PRESS RELEASE
Yorkville Sound Announces Two Higher-Powered NX Series Loudspeakers
July 24, 2004
Advertisement Yorkville Sound is showing off two new NX Series loudspeakers equipped with 15-inch neodymium drivers at this summer's NAMM show. The 600-watt NX600, and the active 750-watt NX750P are the highest-powered cabinets Yorkville Sound offers in an injection-molded box, and the first NX Series enclosures offered with a 15-inch woofer. The passive NX600 cabinet uses a proprietary neodymium 15-inch driver and a custom 80° x 50° rotatable waveguide horn. The rotatable horn allows the cabinet to be installed either vertically or horizontally with the best possible high frequency dispersion angle for any application. The modified semi-trapezoidal shape of the NX600 means this cabinet can also function as a front-of-house cabinet or a monitor, and allows the cabinet to be mounted closer to walls and ceilings in PA installations. The active NX750P offers all of the NX600 features in a 750-watt powered box. The bi-amped power module uses a two-tier Class-H linear technology to deliver 100 watts of high frequencies. A newly designed 650-watt Class D amplifier drives the 15-inch neodymium woofer. The NX750P has a versatile direct input system and built-in mixer stage. The mixer allows the loudspeaker to be used directly with a microphone and / or line source. The loop output allows additional active cabinets to be driven from one cabinet's mixer, or a series of cabinets to be driven from one source. Careful consideration was taken in the design process to ensure the NX750P can easily be used in any orientation, close to walls, floors and in close arrays with multiple cabinets.
