Zoom has introduced their first rack mountable processors to come out in several years, the new RFX-1100 and RFX-2200. These new Zoom Multi-effects feature 44.1 kHz, 24-bit signal processing, with 121 types of preset reverb settings in a one-rack space unit with intuitive front panel controls. The RFX-1100 has 33 types of multi-effects patches, while the RFX-2200 has 48 types of multi-effects patches. Both units feature a batch of Mix-down effects intended for final mastering, and a unique front panel XLR/phone combination jack for direct signal processing. Additional features that you usually don't find on your typical studio effects processors are a microphone simulator patch that allows standard dynamic mics to sound like expensive condensers, and a guitar cabinet simulator great for recording direct guitar tracks. There is also a Lo-Fi, Resonance and Ring Modulator patch, created with DJs in mind. The RFX-2200 adds additional features like 100 storable user presets, a tap-tempo function, as well as SP/DIF and optical digital outputs and full MIDI control with MIDI in, out and through connections.
