Ibanez brought out an impressive number of limited production "Prestige" basses featuring combinations of exotic woods at the first Indianapolis Summer NAMM musical instrument convention. In the BTB Series, their large-bodied, big-necked beast, there was a five-string and a six-string with zebrawood top, mahogany body, and zebrawood back. In the Soundgear line, Ibanez's line for bassists preferring a slimmer body and narrow neck, there were six different models. In that category, for players who desire a bass that accentuates the lower, warmer tones, Ibanez displayed 4-, 5-, and 6-string models featuring a mahogany body with a zebrawood top. For players who want more high-end response there were 4-, 5, and 6-string versions of a Soundgear with a mahogany body and burled poplar top. Soundgear Zebrawood/Mahogany Model Features:
