July 23, 2005

Looking to reinvent the capo, Planet Waves has introduced two new designs: The NS Capo and the Ratchet Capo. The patent-pending NS Capo is a product of the ongoing collaboration between famed product designer Ned Steinberger and Planet Waves. Steinberger is responsible for Planet Waves' Auto-Trim Tuning Machines, and when he had an idea for the perfect capo, he came to J. D'Addario. The NS Capo employs a sleek, ultra-light aerospace aluminum which has a smooth, fast, micrometer screw that. The NS Capo has a simple, one-hand operation, and will work for both 6- or 12-string guitars. The Ratchet Capo uses a simple, intuitive ratchet design to gently lock strings into place at any desired fret. One press of the quick-release lever unlocks the capo for placement around the guitar's neck. Once in place, a gentle squeeze locks the Ratchet Capo in place. The lightweight design of the Ratchet Capo adds almost no weight to the neck of the instrument. The Planet Waves NS Capo retails for $24.99. The Planet Waves Ratchet Capo retails for $12.99. Both will ship August 1 in the U.S. and October 1, 2005 for all other markets. For more information, visit their web site at http://www.planet-waves.com/.
