July 24, 2005

The new Universal Chromatic Tuner from Planet Waves has something no other tuners have: a built-in stand that doubles as a bracket to hang the tuner from an acoustic guitar's soundhole. The bracket simply folds backwards for use as a stand with any instrument, from mandolins to tubas. The Planet Waves Universal Chromatic Tuner tunes with either its built-in microphone or a 1/4" input and has both LCD and LED displays for tuning in both light and dark environments. Its dual-mode operation allows for auto or manual tuning, and it can be calibrated from A335 to A445 (comes set to A440). The tuner runs on one 9-volt battery, and is within nearly every musician's price range at only $29.99. The Planet Waves Universal Chromatic Tuner retails for $29.99 and will ship August 2005 in the U.S. It will be available in all other markets October 1,.2005. For more information, visit their web site at http://www.planet-waves.com/.
