Akai Professional Releases Version 2.0 Software For EWI4000s Wind Controller

Akai Professional proudly introduces the new EWI4000s Wind Controller, version 2.0 software. Recognized worldwide for its expressive performance capabilities, the newest addition to the EWI family incorporates numerous enhancements in design and adds new performance features and MIDI continuous controller (MIDI CC) assignments.
The EWI4000s has been revamped to offer unmatched functionality including expanded Hold, Octave and Pitchbend button capability. Other improvements include an electronic valve instrument fingering mode for brass musicians, expanded ability to assign program changes and the option to assign the Portamento Strip to any MIDI CC.
Specific new functionality includes:
- Hold key functionality allows both legato and non-legato modes and an assignable MIDI CC switch
- Octave key not only creates octaves doubling but now adds the ability to create parallel intervals for duo phonic passages and assignable MIDI CC switch
- Pitchbend up-and-down thumb controllers now send MIDI CC and Pitchbend information separately
- Expanded ability to assign program changes to all notes in the eight octave range
