Sony's new MDR-7509HD professional headphones are designed to meet the closed-type monitoring needs of FOH and studio engineers, musicians and audio professionals working with higher resolution digital audio recording and playback gear, and to accommodate the extraordinary frequency response presented by DSD and High Sampling PCM recording technologies.

"MDR-7509HD headphones introduce revolutionary new HD driver units capable of 80 kHz ultra-wide range reproduction," said Paul Foschino, senior manager for professional audio in Sony Electronics' Broadcast and Production Systems Division. "Their outstanding tonal balance and extended frequency range, enables them to take full advantage of the 24 Bit/96 kHz expanded bandwidth achieved by such revolutionary products as Sony's new PCM-D1 portable recorder.

"As the next generation replacement for Sony's top-of-the-line MDR-7509 headphones, the MDR-7509HD are distinguished by Auranomic circum-aural driver units developed to eliminate pressure on the ear during periods of extended use. These significant design enhancements position them as one of the most comfortable and technologically-advanced headphones on the market," Foschino adds.
