TAMA introduces the Flashback Starclassic Performer kits with '60s style classic wraps, and the Starclassic Mirage acrylic kits.
Flashback Starclassic Performer Kits
Flashback is the name TAMA has bequeathed to their two Starclassic Performer limited edition kits featuring '60s-style classic wraps. Only the finishes are memory-lane items, however. Remarked Terry Bissette of TAMA, "Our Flashback limited edition kits are wrapped with yesterday's finishes, but everything else is today—the virgin bass drum, the Star-Cast mounting system and the TAMA heavy-duty hardware."

Starclassic Mirage
It's been nearly 30 years since TAMA's last acrylics. The new version has been christened "Mirage" and is under the Starclassic family name since it features all of the other signature Starclassic features: die-cast hoops, Star-Cast mounting system, Iron Cobra pedals, etc. The shells, however, are made in the USA (not Japan where all other Starclassic shells are made) where the bearing edges are also cut.
The kits are available in two types of shell colors: the clear "Crystal Ice" and the transparent charcoal "Black Ice."
