Klein + Hummel introduces its KPA Series of audio power amplifiers at InfoComm08. Designed to drive the largest and most demanding reinforcement applications, the KPA Series covers the full range of reinforcement needs with operating at levels as high as 6,000 watts into two ohms down to models providing 1,100 watts into eight ohms. The series also features Klein + Hummel's unique ability to daisy-chain amplifiers together using a single CAT-5 cable for both digital audio distribution and remote control monitoring of all amplifier functions, including load monitoring.
The KPA Series includes the single rack space KPA 2400, KPA 2290 and KPA 2220 two-channel high-power amplifiers. The units have both analog and direct K8 inputs. The K8 inputs are one of the most exceptional features of the KPA Series: the ability to feed the head-end of the Klein + Hummel K8 digital audio distribution system and select Ether Sound, AES3 digital or analog inputs. Klein + Hummel's Installed Sound Product Manager, Dave Theis, points out the advantage: "The Klein + Hummel K8 system only requires a single control connection to Ethernet or USB to monitor and control all the amplifiers in multiple equipment locations. Any of the sixteen digital audio channels on K8 may be selected at the amplifier or switched via remote control through the K8 bus."
The KPA Series is highly efficient and includes a power-saving stand-by mode, keeping long-term ownership costs to a minimum. The KPA Series of amplifiers is expected to ship in July 2008. For more information, visit their web site at www.klein-hummel.com.
