Ibanez Introduces New Ukulele Line—Five Pure Acoustic Models
August 04, 2009
Advertisement The sweet-toned, nylon-stringed ukulele originated in the 19th century Hawaii. It gained great popularity in the U.S. during the early 20th century and from there, spread internationally. At the 2009 Summer NAMM in Nashville, Ibanez introduced five different soprano and concert-size pure acoustic ukulele models which bring the rich, textured sounds of Hawaii (and more) to your fingertips. From the gorgeous figured koa soprano UKS50 to the very affordable sapele-bodied soprano UKS10 and concert UKC10, these ukes all have that beautiful and classic ukulele tone and, of course, precision Ibanez craftsmanship. The ukes' nylon strings are typically tuned to C-tuning (G-C-E-A) with the G string tuned an octave higher. The UKS50, UEW20SG, and UEW10QM feature Grover tuners, abalone rosettes, natural high gloss finishes and padded gig bags. The UKC10 and UKS10 models feature open gear chrome tuners, natural low gloss finishes and gig bags. Model: UKS50 Model: UKS10 Model: UKC10 Model: UEW20SG Model: UEW10QM
