January 25, 2001The FB-88 was co-developed with Digital Harmony Technologies, and is a state-of-the-art
24/96 ready, 8 x 8 audio I/O for IEEE-1394 audio interface.
The FB-88 can work with either PC or Macintosh computers (any program using
ASIO or WDM drivers) and has two software-selectable operating modes, Analog and
ADAT. In Analog mode, the audio inputs are available as source ports with
the optical output configured for SPDIF (available as a sync port) and the FB-88's
analog audio outputs are available as sync ports. In ADAT mode, eight ADAT input
channels are available as source ports with the optical output configured for
ADAT output. The eight ADAT output channels are available as sync ports and the
eight analog audio outputs mirror the eight ADAT output channels.
The FB-88 provides onboard near-zero latency monitoring of the 8 input audio
source ports. The levels and panning of each of the audio source ports is selectable
and the output trim on the monitor outputs is adjustable from +4dBu to -10dBV.
The FB-88 has a dynamic range of >110dB.
Inputs are XLR/1/4" combo jacks and the outputs are 1/4" TRS. Also
included are word clock I/O and MIDI I/O. The FB-88 is 24-bit with variable sample
rates up to 96kHz and provides a wide range of synchronization options including
ADAT, Word Clock and 1394. The internal clock frequency can be selected (44.1k,
48k, 88.2k 96k).
The FB-88 is a standard 19" 2U high rackmount device that comes complete
with ten-segment LED bar graph I/O metering for easy viewing.
Like all Crest Audio products, the new FB-88 is backed by Crest's exclusive
five-year warranty. For more information, visit their web site at www.crestaudio.com. |
