Cycling '74 Announces Essential InstrumentsA Pluggo Collection For VST2 and MAS January 19, 2001Cycling '74 today announced ESSENTIAL INSTRUMENTS, an inexpensive collection
of 14 easy-to-use software synthesizers, drum machines, and sampler modules for
VST2 and MAS. ESSENTIAL INSTRUMENTS is the first of a new line of pluggo Collections
developed with Cycling '74's Max/MSP plug-in authoring technology. Created by
More Electronic Sounds (MES), developers of the acclaimed i-Synth, ESSENTIAL INSTRUMENTS
are intended for musicians seeking high-quality instrument sounds when working
with Cubase, Digital Performer, or other popular sequencers.
The ESSENTIAL INSTRUMENTS collection is strongly oriented toward analog modelling
synthesis. Instruments include a 32-bit sampler and sampling drum module, analog
emulation drum module, two FM synthesizers, a tonewheel organ emulator, a powerful
granular synthesis implementation, a patchable analog-emulation synth, a Theremin
emulation, and a wavetable synth/sequencer with sync. A number of modules are
available in "low fat" versions for greater CPU efficiency. All modules
sport clean and consistent user-interfaces that emphasize ease-of-use, and extremely
high-quality sound generation algorithms
Cycling '74 also announced an exclusive United States distribution agreement
with MES to sell its i-Synth product line in the U.S. The first product, i-Synth
1. 1, features five instrument modules, effects, a mixer, arpeggiator, and a pattern-oriented
sequencer.

of 2001. List price is $99, with a special $59 price offered to PLUGGO users.
A free trial version will be downloadable from the Cycling '74 web site, where
