January 23, 2001With the popularity of dubbing and recording compact discs increasing, Denon
has developed the new CDR-W1500P Player/Recorder, making it easier than ever to
create such CD's in one, all-inclusive package.
Denon's newest CD Player/Recorder is packed with many features allowing it
to interface with the various playback and recording needs of many compact disc
formats available today. Drive 1 can be used for either standard CD playback or
playback of HDCD discs via the built-in HDCD decoder. Drive 2 can function as
either a CD-R/CD-RW recorder or a standard CD player. The analog inputs of the
CDR-W1500P feature full 24-bit A/D conversion for highly accurate recordings of
analog sources with increased dynamic range. Direct digital signal may also be
used via the digital coaxial or optical inputs and, with the internal digital
sampling frequency converter, can convert both 32 kHz and 48 kHz rates to the
CD standard 44.1 kHz. Furthermore, a special text input feature allows discs and
track names to be entered for display on the units' easy-to-read front panel,
allowing for instant recognition and simple documentation of discs.
Both decks of the CDR-W1500P feature a set of digital coaxial, digital optical
and standard analog outputs featuring 24 bit Analog Devices D/A converters, allowing
for a variety of recording and playback options. Dubbing can be done in either
real-time or at double speed, allowing for fast and seamless duplication made
possible by the 44.1 kHz Direct Digital Dubbing feature (HDCD dubbing compatible).
Several different recording modes are also available to suit the users needs.
Scan Rec Dubbing Mode allows selection of specific tracks for recording, while
Disc Dubbing Mode directly records all information, including HDCD data and user-input
text, from one disc to the other. A Synchronized Recording Function can be used
to begin recording as soon as signal is seen by the unit.
A wide variety of playback modes are also incorporated into the CDR-W1500P.
A Repeat mode lets the user select one or all tracks from drive A and/or B for
repetitious playback. The Relay Play mode gives automatic, continuous play from
drive A to drive B. The Mix Program Play mode supports programmed playback of
one or both discs, as the Mix Random Play mode plays random selections from drive
A and/or B.
For unprecedented reliability and stability, the CDR-1500P features a linear-type
transformer in the power section for optimum power calibration during use. The
unit comes housed in an attractive aluminum faced housing. A 2U rack-mount kit
is also included.
The CDR-W1500P is available immediately for the suggested list price of $749.00.
