DigiTech Releases RP300
January 19, 2001DigiTech, a Salt Lake City-based manufacturer of digital and analog effect
processors, announced today the release of the RP300, a full-featured amp modeling/multi-effects
guitar processor with three footswitches and a built-in expression pedal.
Like other RP products, the new RP300 uses a cost-effective design based on
a simple turn-knob/matrix interface and alphanumeric display to access its extensive
effects and parameters. The RP300 features 24bit A/D/A converters and houses a
1/4-inch input jack, CD inputs, stereo left and right outputs and headphone output
in a rugged cast aluminum chassis.
Featuring the powerful AudioDNA DSP processor, the RP300 can process up to
10 studio-quality effects at a time including auto swell, chorus, flanger, phaser,
triggered Hanger, triggered phaser, tremolo, pitch shift, detune, whammy, ya ya,
auto ya, synth talk, envelope filter and rotary speaker. Other effects include
compressor, noise gate, 3-band EQ with sweepable mid, panning and multiple delay
and reverb settings. Each of the RP300's effects has up to five parameters that
can be adjusted via the front panel turn-knobs or controlled in real time using
the built-in expression pedal.
The RP300 modeling capabilities range from simulations of microphone placement
and pickups to amplifier and cabinet modeling. Included are 12 popular amp and
acoustic guitar models that give users plenty of classic sounds to use. The unit
also contains 40 different model/effect presets and can store up to 40 more user-defined
presets. Presets can be quickly selected and routed through either of two amp
channels using the RP300's footswitches.
In addition to its vast modeling capabilities, the RP300 also serves as a useful
practicing tool for all levels of players. The Learn-A-Lick feature is a custom
phrase sampler that can record a passage of high-speed guitar solo and slow it
down from its original speed without changing the pitch. The RP300's built-in
Rhythm Trainer also provides timing practice with numerous styles of drum patterns
to play against at any tempo. For more information, visit their web site at www.digitech.com. |
