January 19, 2001

In Anaheim this January, Fender Musical Instruments Corporation (FMIC) proudly welcomes a new addition to its line of Vintage Series amplifiers - the long awaited re-issue of the ‘65 Super Reverb. This re-creation of the collectable "Blackface" Super Reverb from the 1960s is sure to be an instant classic in its own right, and promises not to disappoint reverb fanatics at this year’s winter NAMM show.

Joining the classic ‘59 Bassman, ‘65 Deluxe Reverb and ‘65 Twin Reverb in the Vintage Series ranks, the ‘65 Super Reverb is the latest product from Fender’s amplifier group - designed by the world-class R&D team in Scottsdale, Arizona, and manufactured at the state-of-the art manufacturing facility in Corona, California. To faithfully replicate the sound and feel of one of Leo Fender’s last original amplifier designs, the engineers in R&D spent hundreds of hours with many vintage Super Reverbs, studying their every aspect.

The result is an amplifier that looks, feels and, most importantly, sounds just like its renowned predecessor. Throughout history, all styles of guitar from blues to rock to country to jazz have benefited from the unmistakable bite, clarity and dynamic range of the ‘65 Super Reverb. With this new re-issue, today’s guitarists can experience the same magic that has defined so much of how legendary music is made.

"We’ve had countless requests from players and retailers asking for the Super Reverb," says Shane Nicholas, marketing manager for Fender amplifiers. "It’s a long awaited addition to our Vintage Series re-issues and we’re all very excited to see it back."

The ‘65 Super Reverb is a 40 Watt, all tube combo amplifier with tube driven Reverb and Vibrato, and 4x10" Jensen P-10 Alnico speakers. Covered in black Tolex, the Super Reverb is an aesthetic match to the original with all the same features, including: two channels; Treble, Mid, Bass, Volume, Reverb and Vibrato controls; and two-button footswitch. Dimensions are: 24.5" H x 25" W x 10.5" D, 59.5 lbs.

US MSRP is $ 1,699.99.
