Fender Announces Grand Auditorium Series Acoustics
 January 20, 2001This January, Fender Musical Instruments Corporation’s Acoustic Instruments division will release four new models that will redefine the expectations of what an imported acoustic instrument should be. Incorporating unsurpassed quality of materials, features and specifications, Fender’s Grand Auditorium Series instruments will impress players of all abilities with their beauty, playability and outstanding tone.
Each of the four Grand Auditorium models feature an all new body shape, exclusive to Fender acoustic guitars. The GA-43S and GA-45S are acoustic non-cutaway instruments, while the GA-43SCE and GA-45SCE are electric-acoustic guitars with a cutaway for access to the higher frets.
A choice of solid mahogany or rosewood backs differentiate the four models, while all come with solid AA spruce tops. Impeccable tortoise shell binding, dovetailed neck joints and abalone inlays highlight the adornments of all four models.
To create four new acoustic instruments of such high quality and value, Fender’s research and development team worked very closely on every facet of the guitars’ designs and manufacturing technique with its Asian partners, who have invested millions of dollars into a climate-controlled facility featuring the latest technology and machinery.
Many features, including the body shape, new low-mass bridge and bracing have been designed by Fender and are exclusive to this line of instruments. Additionally, the exclusive Fender/Fishman Classic 4 ACLR preamp and pickup system has been designed with the high standards of quality that both its namesakes are known for.
