PRESS RELEASE

Korg Adds PCM Support To Oasys PCI

January 21, 2001

Korg announces the release of version two software for its OASYS PCI synthesis, effects and computer I/O card. This expansive new update adds sixteen new algorithms for playing back PCM samples to the OASYS PCI's already powerful DSP synthesis capabilities. These new algorithms provide everything from a simple loop player, to a user-configurable drumkit, up through complex new PCM-based synthesizer designs. The update also includes virtually all of the samples from the acclaimed Korg Triton library - a total of 130 megabytes of PCM data - with over 500 multisamples, 4,000 samples, and hundreds of new programs. In addition, the user can import samples in WAV, AIFF, and Sound Designer II formats (either 16 or 24-bit), use them to make new drumkits and programs, and even edit them using any third-party waveform editor.

The update will be available for free as a download from Korg's website, or available shipped on a CD-ROM for a nominal charge. Along with this exciting upgrade to the system, the OASYS PCI is now available for an average street price of $1299, making this versatile computer-music tool an even more incredible value.

OASYS PCI provides 44 stunning synthesizers, a 12-in/12-out effects processor with 135 algorithms, plus 24-bit I/O for your computer, both analog and digital formats. Its onboard DSP power helps relieve the burden normally placed on the host CPU when using plug-ins and applications providing similar functionality. It runs on both MAC and Windows operating systems, and works with all major audio and MIDI applications.
