PRESS RELEASE

Propellerhead Software's Recycle! 2.0

(Click for a close-up)
January 23, 2001

Propellerhead Software has announced the release of Recycle! 2.0, the groovemaker. The 2.0 release can now work with stereo files and most settings within Recycle! can now be previewed in real-time. So tempo and pitch changes are heard instantly, making it easier to ensure that a loop will work at the desired tempo. And individual slice point can be moved and deleted, adding more options to the process of achieving the perfect Recycle!'d groove. Again, any change is heard in absolute real-time.

A number of new real-time processing tools have also been included for final loop mastering purposes. The Gate sensitivity control makes it easy to get rid of unwanted noise or other low level audio, an Envelope adds attack and decay control over every slice, the Transient Shaper shapes the dynamic behaviour of the signal, great for adding more kick to a loop and finally a two band Parametric EQ with hi and lo cut to solve final sonic problems or creative sound design.

The final result can be exported to any of the supported Samplers, or saved as a Wav/Aiff or REX2 file. The new REX2 file format is supported by Steinberg Cubase and Propellerheads own Reason software however implementation of this ingenious file format has been planned in many other major applications.

REX2 files can also be reloaded into Recycle! 2.0 for further works as all real-time settings are non-destructive. Finally, Recycle! now also feature ASIO support.
