PRESS RELEASE

New Flagship KC-Series Keyboard Amp from Roland

KC-1000 Offers Powerful Output, 7-Speaker Design, COSM Processing and More

January 21, 2001

Roland is proud to announce the flagship of the acclaimed KC-Series amps, the KC-1000 Stereo Mixing Keyboard Amplifier. With 310 watts of output power and a unique seven-speaker design, the KC-1000 faithfully reproduces the sounds of modern synthesizers and organs. In addition, the dedicated Organ input uses RSS and COSM technology to create realistic tone cabinet reverberation and is optimized for the most accurate reproduction of the "Virtual Tone Wheel" sound of the Roland VK-Series Combo Organs.

As the flagship of the KC-Series amps, the new KC-1000 delivers more power than any other model: 310 watts using a five-channel amplification system and seven speakers. This unique speaker configuration consists of two 1-inch tweeters, two 6.3-inch midrange speakers, two 6.3-inch side speakers and a 15-inch woofer. This design allows the KC-1000 to accurately reproduce anything from the sparkling string sounds of a modern keyboard workstation to the deep pedal bass of an organ.

Organ players will appreciate the KC-1000’s dedicated Organ input, which makes connecting Roland and Rodgers organs simple. This special input uses proprietary RSS and COSM technology to reproduce an organ’s natural tone cabinet reverberation. In addition, the KC-1000 is the only keyboard amplifier optimized for accurate reproduction of the Virtual Tone Wheel sound found in Roland’s VK-7 and VK-77 Combo Organs.

Four input channels with built-in mixing capabilities can handle everything from synthesizers to organs—even a microphone. All input channels are processed with an exclusive Ambient effect using RSS technology, a split-frequency compressor/limiter and a three-band equalizer. A Stereo Link function allows to KC-1000’s to be chained together for more powerful monitoring. Built to last, the KC-1000’s heavy-duty casters and carpeted exterior cabinet will provide years of use, whether on stage or at home.

Connections to the KC-1000 include a stereo Organ input, stereo Orchestral input (TRS type), a Synth/Aux input (TRS type), a mono Microphone input (TRS type), and a Stereo Link input. Outputs include a stereo Line output (XLR-type), stereo Headphone output and Stereo Link output.
