Santa Cruz Announces D Pre-War Guitar
January 25, 2001Santa Cruz Guitar Company's new D/PW
model represents the second and final step in
consummating SCGC's decision to make its
two most popular body shapes available at a
price point that would open the door for a
whole new group of players, as well as giving
our professional clientele the chance to
purchase SCGC guitars at working axe prices.
The D/PW incorporates pre-war (PW)
advanced X bracing similar to famous pre-war
herringbone guitars, and simple, elegant
appointments in a professional-grade
instrument. The result is a guitar in tune with
the needs of working musicians and serious
amateurs, at a price unmatched for an acoustic
guitar of this caliber.
Advanced X bracing provides the new model
with its distinctive open sound. The full
overtone series and tone depth of guitars with
advanced X bracing are particularly well suited
for rhythm playing and vocal accompaniment.
The new D/PW offers a sophisticated world
class dreadnought with the advantages of advanced X bracing at a previously
much higher price.
The D Pre-War features Indian rosewood body, Sitka spruce top, Ebony
fingerboard and bridge, herringbone rosette, and high gloss finish. Simple
appointments contribute to the elegance of the D/PW. Understated black
binding, black/white/black top purfling, black fingerboard binding and backstrip,
and unbound Indian rosewood headstock overlay are artisan touches that reflect
the superb handcrafting found throughout.
With a suggested retail of $2,250.00, the D/PW is a remarkable value. It was
created to be affordable and practical for touring musicians, singer-songwriters,
or just anyone who wanted to own an instrument of the quality SCGC embodies,
but previously couldn't afford.
The D/PW model is available now at local, authorized Santa Cruz Guitar
Company dealers. For more information, visit their web site at www.santacruzguitar.com. |
