Tacoma Introduces New 5-String Bass
January 24, 2001Tacoma Guitars introduced two 5-sring versions of the popular Thunderchief
acoustic bass, the CB105 and CB 10L. The left-hand model is also available in
a four-string model.
"The CB105 is the most dynamic acoustic bass on the market," says
Terry Atkins, Product Development Manager for Tacoma Guitars. "It offers
incredibly flexibility for the contemporary player. The offset soundhole allows
us to stiffen the center of the top with less bracing, while leaving the edges
free to vibrate. This lets the top move large volumes of air to reproduce the
lowest notes in the bass range."
Specifications: 34" scale 1.65" nut 4.875" deep 17.5"
wide All solid wood, satin finish CB 105 - Sitka top, Mahogany back and sides,
rosewood fingerboard, black tuners, 5 string roundwound. CB 10L - Same as above
