TASCAM (Booth 6491) is showcasing the expanded features of their US-428 digital audio workstation controller as part of their Winter NAMM computer recording solutions demonstrations. In addition to its already impressive feature set, the US-428s expanded features include compatibility with Windows ME and Windows 2000, compatibility with MOTUs Digital Performer and offers control of Native Instruments B4 virtual synthesizers. Plus, the US-428 now ships with BIAS DeckLE multitracking software for the Macintosh.
Shipping since August 2000, the US-428 combines a hardware interface with computer functionality to interface with both Windows- and Macintosh-based sequencing platforms via a Universal Serial Bus (USB) port. The US-428 requires no additional interface card to install, and is compatible with applications that accept a standard MIDI controller message.
"With the US-428, were now able to offer a comprehensive and very easy-to-use bridge between the recording industry and the computer age," says TASCAM international product development manager Mike McRoberts.
The US-428 ($625 MSRP) allows users full control over any number of
software faders through eight hardware faders, groups of eight software faders selectable with buttons located beneath the US-428s jog wheel. The units control surface also supports transport, EQ and control functions for sequencers and DAWs. Users can support inputs of 16- or 24-bit resolution at 44.1 or 48 kHz, and stereo or mono, with four analog inputs able to be recorded at once. The US-428 also features a 2-channel digital input. Two audio output channels also support 16- or 24-bit resolution in stereo or mono, and at 44.1 or 48 kHz.
The US-428 comes bundled with BIAS DeckLE audio multitracking software for the MAC platform and Steinbergs Cubasis VST audio recording and sequencing software for the PC. Mac users will also receive the Steinberg Cubasis software at no charge as soon as the Mac version is available. For more information, visit their web site at www.tascam.com. |
